Who We Are The Lorain County Office on Aging (LCOOA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting, advocating for, and empowering seniors in Lorain County, Ohio. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you visit our website.

- Transaction information which includes your Senior Years Monthly New Subscription and your past transactions. through Stripe which is the payment server we use for this service.
- Communications with us including the information you include in communications with us, for example, each time you have a conversation over the phone with one of our staff members it is documented with your consent.
- Device information including information about your device, browser, or network connection, your IP address, and other unique identifiers.
- Usage information including information regarding your interaction with our Services, including how and when you interact with or use our Services.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to provide services, process donations, send program updates or for our Senior Years Newsletter, and to respond to inquiries. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Depending on how you interact with us or which of the Services you use, we may use personal information for the following purposes:
- Provide, Tailor, and Improve our Services. We use your personal information to provide you with Services, and to fulfill your Senior Years Newspaper orders. This may include using your personal information to better tailor and improve our Services to you and others in the elderly community of Lorain County.
- Security and Fraud Prevention. We use your personal information to authenticate your account
- Communicating with You. We use your personal information to provide you with customer support, to be responsive to you, to provide effective services to you and to maintain our business relationship with you.

We use your personal information to comply with applicable law or respond to valid legal process, including requests from law enforcement or government agencies, to investigate or participate in civil discovery, potential or actual litigation, or other adversarial legal proceedings, and to enforce or investigate potential violations of our terms or policies.

- Benefits and Service Coordination: Our Case Managers may use and share client information with authorized agencies and service providers — such as insurance companies, the Ohio Benefits system (food stamps/SNAP), Medicaid, and other benefit programs — solely for the purpose of connecting clients with the assistance and resources they need.
- Legal Compliance: We may disclose information as required by applicable federal, state, or local law, court order, or government regulation.
We only disclose the minimum information necessary and always in the best interest of the individuals we serve.

Security and Retention of Your Information
Please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee "perfect security." In addition, any information you send to us may not be secure while in transit.
